Description

I haven't done a :iconnemafronspain: pic for AGES, and I've been wanting to have a crack at this piece for about as long so I FINALLY got round to colouring this, and YES! :w00t: ... turned out so good ... :D

This is of course Kaneda from Katsuhiro Otomo's awesome, legendary anime feature Akira, still widely regarded (rightly so, too) as one of the greatest animes of ALL TIME! Better yet, he's astride his mighty superbike, a proper supercharged MONSTER bike that I don't think has EVER been bettered, either in real life OR in the movies/comics/anime/stuff ... AND he's got that choice laser canon too ... :XD:

So yeah, this one was fun to work on, and it was interesting working my head around a few little technical problems here and there ... most notable (certainly if you compare the WIP examples of the flat and finished colours to this final version) the streaks of white reflected light on the windshield, which of course I started out with in day-glo green (cuz it was on a white background, of course) and then swapped-out after I mounted it on the finished background (which I HAVEN'T posted here cuz it's proper dull and overly simplistic on its own). The product-placement labels were tricky too, but in the end I got 'em to work well enough ...

Anyway, hope Nema likes it ...

Although I didn't see it (instead the original), the redubbing of Akira comes to mind when I see this:

"Ken-NAH-da!"
as opposed to "Ken-NAY-da!"

All the same, a lot of attention and care was put into this from all parties involved and it shows. Nicely done!
