Katya 'redesign' 1 pencils

Okay, I'm back (sort of ... technically this is actually almost a week old, I only just got round to posting it ... sorry!) with another piece of character "redesign" for my own Nightlife Mythos comic book project Dust Bunnies. As promised, of course, this time I've been able to expand to one of the other characters outside of my (admittedly possibly slightly OVERdrawn ) girl Heidi Roman ... specifically the comic's peripheral "villain" Katya Alexiovna. Being the bratty, super arrogant scion of a powerful "Dark" Nocturnal (read "vampire" ... SORT OF) family, she's a big deal in her native Los Angeles, but constantly embarrasses herself with her ongoing (and totally inexplicable) hatred of Heidi herself, the constant backfiring of which is always getting her into deep shit with the local Dark bigwigs.

Anyways, this one's still a bit of a work in progress (for one thing her hips have come out a bit TOO broad, she's really more of a lean, tightly toned athletic type), but I'm still pleased with how this is coming along - I think I've FINALLY cracked her look, which is something of a Lisbeth Salander/Harley Quinn combo, complete with crazy hair (look out for a variety of hairstyles in subsequent pics ) and seriously intimidating retro punky rock chick wardrobe. Particularly the snazzy (albeit potentially cheesy) lace-up spandex pants ...
