John Heat

In the Los Angeles Nightlife conflict, John Heat's a bit of a mercenary. Yes, he fights on the side of the Light, but he has no official ties with it, and seems to work with them mainly when it suits him. He's arrogant, chauvinistic and extremely full of himself, barely countered by the fact that he's also one of the best young supernatural warriors in the city. Heidi hates his guts. She's also head-over-heels in love with him.

Yes, another character I'm playing with maybe putting in that potential web-comic. John's a Nocturnal (sort of like a vampire, although most Nocturnals hold very little in common with classic vamp mythology), a kind of evolutionary bridge between the Divine (demon and angel-kin) and humanity, and most of them look entirely human. John's kind of in-between himself, being a Wildchild or "Stray", a creed of Nocturnal in which the animal-within strays very close to the surface (hence the feline appearance). It makes him a bit feral, and instinct plays a large part in his day-to-day behaviour. It also means he doesn't deal too well with regular humans (or "mundanes").

Anyone who's looked in my scrapbook will probably be able to tell he's packing Fury weaponry. John's been doing this for a while, and these are a trophy from his most prominent kill to date. Of course, the Fury virtually shredded him before he went down, hence the scars.
