Alternative Universe Buffy

Well, some Buffy fanart has of course been coming for a while now, as a great many of my friends here on dA would probably have guessed. Yeah, I'm a massive Joss Whedon fan, and while I love Firefly best I got into Buffy the Vampire Slayer first so it really does hold a special place in my heart. Anyway, I was watching some of season 3 earlier and one of my very favourite episodes came on, The Wish, in which we first run into Anya, back when she was still a Vengeance Demon, and she granted Cordelia's wish that Buffy had never come to Sunnydale, thus unleashing all kinds of nightmarish shit on the town ...

Anyway, this got me TOTALLY in the mood for some fanart, so I decided my first Whedon piece should be the alternative universe version of Buffy - a great deal more cynical, battered and world-weary (hence the scar), a bit more like Faith channelled through Clint Eastwood really ... I like to think I captured it pretty well, even managing a certain Gellar likeness while retaining my own personal style. Anyway, there should be more along at some point soon ... and there should be some Firefly stuff along before too long too ...
